We believe environmental health is foundational to human health
Climate change is one of the greatest challenges of our time, and as a global pharmaceutical leader, we are committed to reducing our environmental footprint at scale. Our strategy combines clean energy adoption, efficient operations, and transparency in emissions reporting.
We’ve categorized emissions using the GHG Protocol into Scope 1, 2, and 3, and begun reporting on each in line with international frameworks. We’ve also aligned with the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and submitted to the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP).
At MSN, we operate on the principle that every drop counts. All our sites follow Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD), meaning no untreated water is released into the environment. We treat, recycle, and reuse water efficiently across operations, while also enhancing groundwater conservation through rainwater harvesting systems.
We’re also reducing our water intensity and ensuring that treated water meets prescribed quality standards, verified by third-party audits.
Our waste reduction journey is deeply rooted in innovation. From minimizing solvent usage in manufacturing to replacing conventional methods with continuous processes, we are advancing circularity in operations. Hazardous and non-hazardous waste is responsibly disposed through authorized partners like AFRFs and TSDFs.
We also follow Green Chemistry principles, promoting the safe, efficient, and sustainable use of materials in our labs and plants.
Protecting biodiversity is fundamental to long-term ecological health. While none of our operational units are located near protected zones, we proactively contribute to conservation efforts through plantation drives and biodiversity planning.
We’ve planted over 2,000 native saplings across our facilities, contributing to habitat restoration and local carbon sinks.
